The sandblasting department comprises 5 machines, which differ in size and operating features. All the machines have been designed especially for automatic shotblasting of die-cast pieces.
All the machines essentially comprise three components:
- a reinforced sandblasting chamber built with special highly abrasion-proof material in which is done the powerful jet of metal cylinders;
- a conveyor through which the pieces gain access to the machine;
- a dust suction and filtering system capable of creating a suitable flow of air for operation of the machine to which it is connected, and separating and collecting the dust created by the air itself.
The sandblasting procedure works through the use of tiny steel cylinders of various sizes depending on the result to be obtained on the pieces. Therefore, cylinders with a diameter of a few microns will be used for “lighter” sandblasting, whereas for a deeper action will be used cylinders with a larger diameter.
The contaminant substances detached during sandblasting are conveyed together with the cylinders into the separator that sends the contaminants to the filtration system and recovers the cylinders to be send back to a new cycle.
